Writing in the Content Areas PowerPoint presentation
English 7-12 Language Arts Core Documents
This includes Enduring Understanding and Essential Questions for each standard, Quarterly Curriculum Maps, Student Mastery Charts, Writing Rubrics, PACE Poster, and Wordle for each secondary grade level
The Reading, Writing, inquiry charts take each standard and compare them grade to grade

Common Core
The Common Core has been adopted in 48 states and the District of Columbia. Utah will be adopting these standards June 2010. Teachers will begin integrating these standards with our current standards over the next two years, and then we will transfer completely to the new standards after that.
A national assessment will be developed by a consortium of 26 states to assess these standards. Both formative and summative assessments are being developed.

Smiley-face Tricks are a fun way to help student increase the beauty of their writing. When students or teachers evaluate student writing, draw a smiley-face next to any of the tricks that students have included in their writing. This is one of those man-I-wish-I had-this-before-the-end-of-the-year kind of handouts!
